Anissa Gray’s Novel “The Care and Feeding of Ravenously Hungry Girls” Highlights the Fortitude of Women of Color

In this episode 87, we meet Anissa Gray, author of “The Care and Feeding of Ravenously Hungry Girls.”

“The New York Times Book Review” calls it “a fast-paced, intriguing story” and “O, The Oprah Magazine” says: “The inequities of the justice system, the fortitude of women of color, and the bittersweet struggle to connect are rendered ravishingly in this bighearted novel.”

“Vogue” calls the book, “disarmingly compelling” and “The Washington Post” remarks: “An absorbing commentary on love, family and forgiveness.”

It’s a story about the Butler family, that has had their share of trials—as sisters Althea, Viola, and Lillian can attest—but nothing prepared them for the literal trial that will upend their lives.
