About the Author
Dennis Carrigan is the author of two novels. His first novel, “Memphis, 1873,” is a character driven work of historical fiction during the year of a devastating plague of Yellow Fever. His recent novel, “Unusual Suspects,” is a mystery set in a small North Carolina town. After the body is found, enter a cast of quirky characters: a street-wise cop from Detroit, a police chief set in his ways, an overzealous deputy, a mystery-loving coroner, a drunken husband, and an agnostic minister. What should have been a simple matter for the police begins to spread suspicion and confusion through the town. Old jealousies are revived, past scandals are exposed anew. A widower is driven to near madness in his grief. A gentle soul’s questionable past threatens his reputation, and his livelihood
Dennis was raised in Charlotte and received an MA in English Literature from University of Detroit. He’s married to novelist Sandy Hill, who he met at a writing event he almost didn’t attend. She invited him to her critique group, and they’ve been together ever since.
