It was supposed to be the perfect wedding – until Annie Taft disappeared. While loved ones frantically try to track her down, they’re forced to grapple with their own secrets, leaving them to wonder how well they really knew Annie and how well they know themselves.
We start the show in this character driven novel two weeks before the wedding with the author reading an early section of the book in Annie’s point of view, where we learn that the killer of Annie’s mother may be released from prison.

Marybeth Mayhew Whalen is the author of Only Ever Her, When We Were Worthy, The Things We Wish Were Trueand five previous novels.
She speaks to women’s groups around the US and is the co-founder of the popular women’s fiction site, She Readswww.shereads.org, where she and her co-founder express their belief that “Story is the shortest distance to the human heart.”
Marybeth and her husband Curt have been married for 27 years and are the parents of six children. Marybeth divides her parenting and writing time between the suburbs of Charlotte NC and the coastline of Sunset Beach NC.
