December 2022
December Lineup
We have three December episodes to wrap up the Charlotte Readers Podcast 2022 year, including our end-of-the-year episode with co-host Hannah Larrew who drops in during her maternity leave to say hello. The episodes will include Charlotte Lit writing tips, book recommendations by the hosts, Storied Charlotte Blog, and That’s Novel Books, author elevator pitches, and features of the following authors and community author bloggers:
Episode 318 – December 13
Joined by guest co-host Kathie Collins, we feature author Culley Holderfield and his novel, Hemlock Hollow, an Appalachian mystery set in North Carolina that flows back and forth from the 1880s to the present day, along with a feature with children authors Sheryl Smiley-Oliphant and Christopher Singleton about writing for children. We also feature author Cortney Donelson’s blog post Everything Starts with the Foot, which explores how writing the ending first can lead from beginning to end. And we have a poetry reading by teen poet Sydney Horne and three elevator pitches by authors about their new books.
Episode 319 – December 20
Joined by guest co-host Paul Reali, and in the spirit of the holiday season, we feature international bestselling author Wade Rouse’s (writing as Viola Shipman’s) novel, A Wish for Winter, a Christmas themed novel set at a bookstore in Michigan, along with Carey Henry Keefe’s book, A Tide of Dreams, The Untold Backstory of Coaches Paul ‘Bear’ Bryant, Carney Laslie, and Frank Moseley, what one reviewer calls a story of many loves around the common bond of football. We also feature author Lucy McLaren’s blog post Mental Health and the Struggling Writer, which explores how to push back against the negative energy that sometimes haunts writers. We also have three elevator pitches by authors about their new books.
Episode 320 – December 27
All three co-hosts are together again for this year-end episode of Charlotte Readers Podcast where we review the year and talk about writing, reading, and podcasting aspirations for the New Year. We also take on several uplifting topics for writers. We dive into Sarah Archer’s blog post, Why is Imposter Syndrome So Common Among Writers and How to Beat It and Landis Wade’s blog post, Coming to Terms With Reality – The Universe Doesn’t Care About Your Book As Much as You Do and That’s Okay. We also have book recommendations and more.
